Description

This is a farmhouse, dating from around 1840, now used as a house. It is constructed from squared and watershot coursed stone, with a slate roof. The exterior presents a two-storey, three-window front, with a central entrance. A round-arched architrave frames a six-panelled door, above which is a plain fanlight. The windows to the right are four-pane sashes, while those to the left have altered glazing. All openings have painted stone flat arched heads, and a continuous sill band runs across the first floor. The roof has oversailing eaves, and there are gable chimneys. The interior was not inspected. The farmhouse was built to support the factory community established by the Ashworths of New Eagley Mill between 1835 and 1855.
