Description

The farmhouse, now a house, dates from 1843 and is constructed of well-coursed, squared and tooled stone with a graded slate roof. It is a two-storey, four-window range, though with a further doorway to the right of the main entrance, both within chamfered architraves. The first floor has four two-light mullioned windows. The ground floor windows are mullioned and transomed, with two and three lights respectively. A coped gable is on the right-hand side, with a corbelled gable end stack to the left, and an axial stack between the two right-hand units, which have twist and lozenge decoration. A rear wing extends to the north, featuring a segmental oriel window on the ground floor sprung from paired corbels, and a two-light mullioned window above. The wing has an ornate coped gable with exaggerated kneelers. A lean-to roof sweeps down over a formerly open verandah, now enclosed with glass, and a single bay features a wide arched window on each floor, the upper window within a gabled dormer. A doorway to the verandah is in the return wall, with a coped gable displaying a stag head in high relief above the entrance. The main south gable includes a datestone inscribed with 'A.B.C. archt.'. The interior was not inspected.
