Description
Nos 1 to 21 on Sawrey Place are a terrace of small sandstone "brick" town houses built around 1845. They feature slate roofs with bracketed eaves and corniced chimneys. Each house has a two-bay front with revealed sash windows, which have ashlar lintels and block sills. Some of the windows still retain their glazing bars. The doorways are pilastered and include steps leading up to them. This terrace is included for group value as an early example of small-scale development from the beginning of the mid-19th century building boom.
