Description
117 and 119 West Bar are two houses and shops, dated 1794, with early 19th century alterations. They are constructed of brick with ashlar dressings and feature a slate roof with a central brick ridge stack. The buildings are three storeys high and have a two-window range of plain sashes with multi keystone lintels. Between the windows is an inscribed datestone, and above are two smaller sashes of a similar style. The ground floor features a large early 19th century wooden shopfront with a full-width cornice. There is a near-central door with a heavily pilastered surround, a 20th century door with an overlight, and it is flanked by single four-pane shop windows, with the left window being larger. To the right, there is a blocked door. The interior was not inspected, and the buildings were vacant at the time of the survey.
