Description

The former stable range and cooper's shop, located to the north of Sharrow Mills, is a building dating from the late 18th century that has been altered in the late 20th century. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features hipped stone slate roofs with a single side wall stack. The building is two storeys high and consists of six by five bays.

On the north range, there are six small late 20th-century glazing bar casements on the south side, and below them is a round-headed six-bay arcade. To the left, there are two 20-pane sash windows with a door positioned between them, and between the second and third arches, there is a round window with a stone surround. To the right, there is a beaded panelled door, followed by a blank arch flanked by a pair of carriage doors, with the left doors being partly glazed.

The east range features three late 20th-century two-light casements on the west side, and to the right, there is a pair of doors accessed by an external brick and stone staircase. Next to the door, there is a similar two-light casement. Below this, on the left, are three elliptical arches, with carriage doors to the right, and the left arch has a smaller boarded door. The south end has a late 20th-century two-light casement above and a late 18th-century plank door below, which is topped with a brick flat arch.

The east side includes three late 20th-century two-light casements on each floor, along with three partly blocked pitching eyes. The north side has several blocked pitching eyes and, to the left, a pair of blocked segment-headed carriage doors. The interior has not been inspected.
