Description
This is a terrace of five cottages located on Street Lane, built in the early 19th century with some alterations and additions to the rear. The cottages are constructed from coursed, squared, and dressed sandstone, topped with a stone slate roof. Each cottage features a central door and two windows, except for No 20, which has its door to the left of a single window. There is a communal through-passage between Nos 20 and 21. The terrace is two storeys high, with a total of nine windows on the first floor. The doors are part-glazed and from the 20th century, while the windows are wood casements with horizontal glazing bars, projecting sills, and lintels that are tooled as voussoirs. The roof is hipped and includes five ridge stacks, along with an end stack to the right. The door lintels for Nos 18 and 20 have been altered, and there is a rendered lintel above the left ground-floor window of No 18. There is a flat-roofed extension at the rear of No 21, which is not of special interest.
