Description

The ha-ha forming the northern boundary of the gardens of Wentworth Woodhouse's west front is an 18th-century structure built for the Wentworth estate. It is made of coursed dressed sandstone and features a straight retaining wall that creates a ha-ha, with a ditch to the north. This structure connects the Stable block with the circular-walled garden to the north of Wentworth Woodhouse. The wall is slightly battered and stands approximately 2 meters high, topped with weathered copings. There are later iron railings present, which are not of special interest. The ha-ha is included for its group value.
