SOUTH YORKSHIRE DONCASTER 5096 SK69SE BAWTRY BAWTRY ROAD (east side) 10/7 Milepost approximately 300 metres to north of junction with North Avenue - II Milepost. Dated 1858. Makers J. Walkinshaw, Ironfounders of Doncaster. Cast iron. Triangular-sectioned with 2 round-headed panels angled forwards from a round-headed back panel. Bold raised lettering and numerals read as follows: on left panel : LON/154/BAW/1 on right panel : YORK/44/DON/6 Makers name and date in smaller lettering at foot of each panel. Shown as on Great North Road on O.S. map.
