Description
This is a milepost located approximately 40 metres to the east of the junction with Millindale, dating from the late 19th century. It was made by Brayshaw and Booth of Liversedge. The milepost is constructed from cast iron and is fixed on a gritstone pillar. It features angled sides and a sloping top plate beneath a round-headed panel. The raised lettering on the upper panel reads "BAWTRY & TINSLEY / ROAD / MALTBY." The left side indicates distances to Bawtry (8 miles) and Tickhill (4 1/4 miles), while the right side shows distances to Sheffield (13 miles), Tinsley (9 miles), and Rotherham (6 3/4 miles).
