Description
This milepost, located approximately 50 metres to the west of the pedestrian entrance to Scawsby Ridgwood Comprehensive School, dates from the early 19th century. It is made of siltstone and features a round-headed slab. The slab is inscribed with the distances to Barnsley, which is 13 miles away, and Doncaster, which is 2 miles away. Some of the lettering has been infilled.
