Description

Tudor Cottage is an estate cottage dating from the early to mid-19th century, located on the north side of Barns Road, Scawsby, near Brods worth. The cottage has roughcast walls and a stone slate roof. It is two storeys high, with a two-room plan, incorporating a front porch and a short wing to the centre rear. The single-storey porch features chamfered, pointed inner and outer doorways, and decorative bargeboards. Three-light casement windows have deeply-chamfered surrounds and hoodmoulds. Half-dormers above the main roof incorporate two-light windows and decorative bargeboards. A diagonally-set stack rises from the centre of the building, featuring a brick shaft with stone detailing. The right return has a door and a canted bay window above, supported on curved brackets and with a stone roof, and a scrolled bargeboard to the roof. The left return is similar, but without a door.
