Description

The Mistal is a mid-18th century cowhouse, later converted into a house. It is constructed of rubble limestone with 20th-century cement tile eaves courses and a pantile roof. The building is single-storey and five bays wide. A part-glazed door is located in the second bay, set within a chamfered, quoined surround and a Tudor-arched lintel. Original two-light casement windows are found in the first, second, and fourth bays, all set within square-faced surrounds. A blocked rectangular slit vent is positioned to the left of the door. The fifth bay is gabled and contains a glazed carriage entrance featuring a quoined, keyed segmental arch and a quatrefoil panel in the gable. The building has shaped kneelers and gable copings. The building is included on the list for its group value.
