Description

This barn, located approximately 20 metres to the south-east of Ivy Cottage, dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble and features a stone slate eaves course beneath a pantile roof. The barn is single storey with four internal bays and has large quoins. The central entrance consists of a boarded door with a wooden lintel. There are three rows of triangular vents and two boarded hatches leading to the first floor. Additionally, there is a large inserted entry on the right side of the barn. Inside, the barn has principal-rafter trusses, some of which have been reused from an earlier building. This structure is included for its group value.
