Description
Falcon House, formerly known as the Falcon Inn, is a house dating from the late 17th century that has been altered and extended. It is constructed of rubble limestone and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and three windows on the first floor, with a wing extending to the rear right and an addition to the rear left. The corners are marked by quoins. The doorway, located to the right of the centre, has a 20th-century six-panel door and a plain lintel. The windows are three-light, double-chamfered mullioned types, and the gable copings are moulded. There is a 19th-century external end stack to the right, which has offsets and a cornice, while a brick ridge stack is located to the left of centre, possibly above the original door position.
Inside, there is a notable early 18th-century staircase at the rear, featuring a pulvinated string, turned balusters, and square newels, all of which are now painted. The kitchen to the left has an exposed beamed ceiling, and the upper floors are made of lime-ash.
