Description
Ivy House and Corner Cottage is a house that likely dates back to the 17th century, with significant alterations made in the 19th century. The building is constructed from limestone rubble, with some areas rough-cast, and features a Welsh slate roof. It has two storeys with attics and five windows on the first floor. There is a lean-to addition on the left side and single-storey additions at the rear on both the left and right sides.
The main entrance, located to the right of the center, features a 19th-century panelled door with an overlight that has glazing bars. This door is framed by a projecting ashlar surround with a cornice and a peaked blocking course. To the right of the entrance, there is a canted bay window with a four-pane sash and a hipped lead roof. On the left, a 16-pane sash window is flanked by casements that also have glazing bars. The lean-to addition on the left includes an older two-light casement with glazing bars. On the first floor, there is a casement with glazing bars on the left, flanked by larger similar casements. To the right, two four-pane sashes are set at a higher level. The building has yellow brick end stacks, with a matching ridge stack to the left of the door.
Corner Cottage, which is located to the left, has its entrance at the rear. The right return of the building features large buttresses that were formed from the remains of demolished cottages.
