Description

The barn at Ivy Farmhouse, dated 1728, is constructed from coursed gritstone rubble with large quoins and gritstone dressings. It features a stone slate roof and has both two-storey and single-storey sections. The north elevation includes three doorcases with chamfered quoined surrounds and shouldered lintels, one of which is inscribed with 'SRB 1728'. The eastern door is taller than the others. There are various ventilation slits placed regularly, and a 19th-century window has been inserted on the east side. Inside, there is a hayloft at the east end and a queen strut roof. The barn is included for its group value.
