Description

Marl House is a house dating from the early 18th century, with a 20th-century extension. It is built of coursed gritstone rubble and features large quoins and flush gritstone dressings. The roof is made of stone slate, with stone stacks at the gable end and ridge. The house has two storeys.

On the east elevation, there is a central door with large imposts and jambs, and an incised keystone above an arched lintel. The door has been replaced by a two-light flush mullion window. Flanking the door are three-light flush mullion windows with upper transoms, and there are two similar windows above. To the north, the house has been extended into a former barn, which includes three similar windows on each floor. At the rear, there is a tall mullion and transom stair window.
