Description
Throstle Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse located on the east side of Glossop Road in the parish of Hayfield. The building is constructed of rendered stone that has been painted, featuring rusticated quoins and painted gritstone dressings. It has a stone slate roof with stone gable end stacks that include decorative bands, and a flat eaves band. The farmhouse is two storeys tall, double fronted, and consists of three bays.
On the north elevation, there is a semi-circular headed doorcase with moulded imposts and a keystone, along with flush jambs. The entrance features an ornately panelled door with a plain fanlight above. On either side of the door are glazing bar sash windows with plain surrounds, and there are three similar windows located above on the upper storey.
