Description
Nos. 25, 27, and 29 on Cote Lane are a terrace of weavers' cottages built in the late 18th century. The cottages are constructed from coursed squared gritstone with gritstone dressings and feature slate roofs. There are four ridge stacks and one gable end stone stack. The terrace consists of two double bay cottages and one single bay cottage.
Starting with No. 25 on the west, this cottage is double fronted and has a central glazed plank door, which is sheltered by a 20th-century wooden porch. On either side of the door are three-light flush mullion windows, with two similar windows located above and two more at the eaves. All the windows are 19th-century plain sashes or casements.
No. 27, the single bay cottage to the east, has a plank door to the west, also with a 20th-century wooden glazed porch. It features a three-light flush mullion window to the east and a similar window above, with another similar window at the eaves. The fenestration here consists of 20th-century single pane casements.
Finally, No. 29, located further east, has two bays. It includes a plank door with a square 20th-century window to the east and garage doors to the west. Above, there are two three-light flush mullion windows, with two similar windows above at the eaves.
