Description
Nos. 22 and 24 on Church Street are a pair of cottages dating from the late 18th century. They are constructed from coursed gritstone rubble with gritstone dressings and feature a stone slate roof topped with a central stone ridge stack. The cottages are two storeys high with single bay fronts.
On the east elevation, there are two three-light flush mullion windows. No. 24 has a blocked door to the south, while No. 22 has a door with a thin flush surround to the north, which is a 19th-century plank door with a diamond light. Above this door, No. 22 has two three-light windows that are similar to those below. No. 24 features 20th-century single pane casements, whereas No. 22 has 19th-century small pane casements.
