Description
This barn, located approximately 40 meters southwest of Garden Cottage, likely dates from the late 17th century and has undergone some alterations over time. It is constructed from a mix of uncoursed limestone rubble and timber framing, with sections that are weatherboarded and others that are roughcast. The roof is made of stone slate.
On the west side, there are doorways positioned to the left and right of the center, along with a fixed-light window to the right. Inside, the barn features visible framing, including vertical posts (some of which have been renewed) with straight braces connecting the wall-posts to the wall-plate, as well as curving braces from the wall-posts to the tie beams. The roof consists of a double-purlin structure spanning four bays, supported by collar and tie beam trusses. There is a loft in the southern bay and one that was formerly present in the northern bay.
