KELMSCOTT Job's Close SU2499-2599 10/70 GV II
Shown on O.S. map as Jobbs Close. Cottage. Late C17, extended early C18 and C20. Roughly coursed limestone rubble; stone slate roof. Original 2-cell plan extended to right (straight joint visible to rear) in C18 and again to right in C20. One storey and attic. 3-light chamfered stone mullion windows to left and right of roughly central boarded door with moulded wood lintel under gabled hood to C17 part. 3-light late C19 or early C20 gabled eaves dormers directly above windows. C18 addition has infilled doorway with wood lintel immediately to right of junction with C17 part and 3-light mullion window to right with 3-light gabled eaves dormer directly above. Boarded door to C20 addition. Integral end stack with dripstone to left and ridge stack (formerly an end stack) at junction between C18 and C20 parts. Interior. Not inspected at time of resurvey (May 1987) but noted as having chamfered spine beans to ground-floor rooms 12 to left now knocked into one). Inglenook fireplace to left room with bread oven to right and boarded door probably leading (or formerly leading) to winder staircase. [2365]
