Description
This mid-19th century milepost is located to the east of Gatewood End Farm along the Hatfield Bawtry Road (A614). It is made of cast iron and features a freestanding, triangular column topped with a shallow pyramidal cap. The raised lettering on the milepost indicates the distances to Bawtry, which is 8 miles to the left, and Thorne, which is 6 miles to the right.
