Description
Number 6 is a house that has been converted into offices, built in the early 19th century. It features stucco with painted stone dressings and a slate roof. The building is single bay, three storeys high, plus an attic and basement. The basement has stone steps leading to the front, which includes a 16-pane sash window and a half-glazed door. The original railings at the front have alternating wavy and stick rails, with a basement gate to the left. To the right, the railings continue alongside the stone steps leading to the doorcase, which is supported by a bridge over the basement well. The doorcase is stepped and semi-circular headed, featuring a six-panelled door and a radial glazed fanlight. To the left, there is a shallow bow with a tripartite window, where the upper sashes have glazing bars and the lower sashes are made of plate glass. Above this, there is a full-height oriel bow window with a continuous sill band, tripartite windows with unequal 15 and 10-pane sashes, a moulded cornice, and a leaded roof. There is also a bracketed ironwork balcony with a central frieze of circles at the front. Above, there are two 9-pane sashes with a plain sill band. The building has a timber eaves band and a gabled attic dormer with a sash window and brick end stacks. It is similar in style to Numbers 4 and 5.
