Description
No. 92 Holgate Road is a former vicarage for the Church of St Paul, now serving as a house. It was built between 1850 and 1851 by JB and W Atkinson. The building is constructed of brick with painted stone dressings and features a hipped slate roof on the left side.
The exterior consists of two storeys and three bays, with a symmetrical facade that includes a stone plinth, a first-floor sill band, and brick pilaster strips on the left and right. On the ground floor, there are timber canted bay windows topped with mutule cornices and featuring casements that face forward. The bases of these bays contain blocked cellar window openings. The first-floor windows are glazing bar sashes with brick flat arches, and the central bay has a blind recess. The doorcase is adorned with engaged fluted Doric columns, a triglyph frieze, and a mutule cornice. The gutter is supported by curved timber brackets, and there are chimneys located to the left and positioned axially behind the ridge towards the right. The interior has not been inspected.
