Description
No. 4 Market Place is a former vicarage, now used as offices, dating from the mid-18th century and raised in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of thin bricks in Flemish bond, with larger bricks added in the same bond, and features a painted ashlar plinth, quoins, and dressings. It has a Welsh slate roof with brick chimneys. The structure is three storeys high and has three windows.
On the right side, there is a six-panel door with sidelights and a wide segmental overlight that includes glazing bars, all set within a surround of Tuscan pilasters and an entablature topped with a prominent cornice. The windows are renewed plain sashes with projecting stone sills and painted keyed flat brick arches, while the upper half of the top floor sashes are in the raised section. The building has quoins and stone gable coping on a moulded kneeler, located only on the left side. The roof features a brick chimney at the left end.
