Description
This is a mid-18th century house, subsequently used as a school, now forming the right-hand portion of a club. The building is rendered with a painted ashlar plinth, decorative stone dressings, and a Welsh slate roof with brick chimneys. It has three storeys and originally three windows. A six-panel door is set within a surround of pilasters and a raised open entablature, with a blocked round overlight above. A two-storey canted bay window is located on the left-hand side, beneath a hipped roof. This bay features plain stone surrounds and sash windows with three sashes on each floor; the upper sashes have glazing bars. Similar surrounds and complete glazing bars are found on the sashes in the two right-hand bays, with 12 panes on the ground and first floors and 6 panes on the second floor. The eaves gutter board has molded brackets. The roof has shaped kneelers and flat stone gable coping. A flat-headed, two-light dormer window sits above the canted bay, alongside ridge and end chimneys with ashlar cornices. The right return displays a plain door which was inserted following the demolition of an adjacent building.
