SE 81 NE BURTON UPON STATHER DARBY ROAD (south side) Thealby 1/7 Barn 20 metres north of Green Hill Farmhouse -

GV II

Barn. C16-C17 timber structure with later C17-C18 walls and roof, and minor C19 alterations. Timber-framed, coursed ironstone rubble walls with red brick dressings and pantile roof. 4 bays of aisled frame with opposed entrances in second bay from east. Darby Road front: brick quoins and jambs to the wagon entrance with double plank doors. Splayed breathers on either side with brick surrounds, with a late C19 part- glazed opening under a wooden lintel to the right. Low eaves with dentilled cornice. Steeply-pitched roof with brick coped and tumbled gables. Interior: of the original aisled frame, the arcade plates, 3 tie-beams and pair of arcade posts with curved and straight braces survive; walls flanking the entrances have replaced 2 pairs of posts, and the end walls, incorporating former oak framing timbers, have replaced the end trusses. Oak wall plates. Good 8-bay pine roof with staggered butt purlins and massive pegged tenons.
