Description
Walkers Cottage and The Rose Cottage are a pair of cottages dating from the 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. They are constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with brick dressings, gables, and stacks, topped by a pantile roof. The cottages are single storey with an attic and feature irregular window arrangements.
Walkers Cottage, located on the right, has a central part-glazed door flanked by 12-pane sliding sash windows. The Rose Cottage has a glazed door on the right and two casement windows, one situated under a wooden lintel. All other openings have segmental brick arches. There are two raking dormers on the right with sliding sashes and another dormer on the left with a casement window. Most of the windows were replaced around 1970 and include glazing bars. The pantile roof has two later end stacks on the left.
