Description

The gates and gate piers to Welton Hall, dating from the late 18th century, are constructed of ashlar and wrought iron. The pair of gates features a lower dog rail and a serpentine top rail. Each gate pier has a moulded base that supports a recessed panel and a string course, with an elongated recessed panel above and an oval rosette on the frieze. The piers are topped with a cornice and cap adorned with floral ornamentation, although the ball finials are now missing.
