Description

Shawe's House is a house dated 1784, situated on the south side of Welton Church Street. It is constructed of brick, with a colour-washed exterior and a pantiled roof. The symmetrical elevation is composed of three bays across two storeys. The entrance features a six-panel door with an overlight containing patterned glazing bars, set within a pilastered doorcase topped with a dentil cornice. To either side of the door are sash windows with glazing bars and sills. Above the door is a stone inscribed "I WS 1784." The first floor mirrors the ground floor with three similar sash windows. A stepped brick eaves cornice runs continuously, and raised gables are punctuated by end stacks.
