Description
Barn House is an early 19th-century house located on the north side of Welton Cowgate. It is constructed of red brick and features a timber eaves cornice and a Roman tile roof. The building has two storeys and a four-window front. The main entrance consists of a door with six raised and fielded panels, which has an overlight with glazing bars set in panelled reveals and soffit, framed by a Tuscan doorcase. On either side of the door are sash windows with glazing bars and sills, which are positioned under flat gauged brick arches. To the right, there is a boarded service door also beneath a gauged brick arch. The extreme right side of the building features a 20th-century shop front. On the first floor, there are four similar sash windows. The timber eaves cornice is supported by paired brackets, and the house has end and axial stacks with plain close verges.
