Description
The Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century, located on the north side of Welton Ladywellgate. It is constructed of brick that has been colour-washed, with stone dressings and a pantiled roof. The building is two storeys high and features a symmetrical elevation with five bays, along with a rear outshut.
The flat porch roof is supported by Tuscan columns and covers a glazed and panelled door that has an overlight with glazing bars. On either side of the door are sash windows with sills and glazing bars, although the windows to the left are 20th-century replacements set in reinstated brickwork. The first floor also has five similar sash windows. The house has a bracketed timber eaves cornice, end stacks, and raised coped gables on shaped kneelers.
