Description

This is a terrace of four houses, numbers 6 to 12 Park Road, located in Port Sunlight. They were built in 1894 by William Owen. The houses are constructed of brick with timber framing in some areas, and have tile roofs. The terrace is two storeys high and six bays wide. The central four bays are gabled and have a hipped roof. The central two bays feature a timber-framed first floor projecting under a jettied gable, with flanking plastered gables. The end two bays are recessed. A string course runs above the ground floor, and the building has decorative bressumers and bargeboards. Windows are leaded casements. The ground floor features five-light bay windows, with central canted bays and end canted oriels. The first floor has five-light canted oriels to the central bays, three-light windows to the flanking bays, and small-paned casements in the end bays. The entrances have plank doors with three leaded lights. There are three cross-axial stacks. The rear elevation includes small-paned casements, gabled dormers, and privies.
