Description

This is a terrace of four houses located on Park Road, Port Sunlight, built between 1892 and 1894 by the architect William Owen. The houses are constructed of brick with pebbledash infill to the ground floor, timber framing to the first floor, and have tile roofs.

The houses are two storeys high and four bays wide. The central two bays feature timber framing with decorated gables, while the first and fourth bays are pebbledash. A central buttress defines the pebbledash bays, and drip mouldings are present above them. The gables incorporate strapwork with panels bearing the inscriptions "LLB" and "AD 1892".

The ground-floor windows are four-light canted bays with small panes, while the first-floor windows are two-light casements, paired in the central bays. The first bay has a flat-topped half dormer. The entrances have stone lintels and plank doors with strap hinges. The central entrances are flanked by small windows, whereas the end entrances are recessed and feature decorated bressumers on squat pillars and low walls. There is a lateral stack to the first bay, a stack between the third and fourth bays, and one cross-axial stack. Tile-hanging is visible on the gable ends. The rear elevation is similar, with privies (outhouses) present.
