Description
19 and 21 Park Road are a pair of houses built in 1894 by Douglas and Fordham. They are constructed of brick with stone dressings and feature a timber-framed first floor. The hipped tile roof has gablets. The buildings are two storeys high and consist of six bays. The first floor jetties out, with the end bays projecting under jettied gables.
On the ground floor, there are double-chamfered-mullioned bay windows, with transoms of four lights in the central bays, which have five lights, and canted windows in the end bays. The first floor features four-light canted oriel windows with decorated timber heads, while the second and fifth bays have three-light windows. The entrances are located in round-arched recesses with labels, and each has a half-glazed door and doorcase.
The houses have a stack in the roof slope and return lateral stacks, all with twisted shafts, as well as a stack to the rear. The rear is similar in design and includes privies.
