Description
No. 15 Bolton Road is a house built in 1890 by Grayson and Ould, located in Port Sunlight. The building is constructed of brick with tile-hanging on the first floor and some pebbledash, topped with a hipped tile roof. It has one storey with an attic and consists of two sections, each with two bays.
The second bay features a tile-hung first floor that extends out to create a canopy over the window and entrances below. The windows are small-paned casements, with the first bay having a gauged-brick cambered arch above a three-light window. The second bay includes a five-light canted bay window with a six-light projecting gabled half-dormer above, adorned with pargetting.
The entrance is marked by a gauged-brick cambered arch and a three-panel door with a small-paned light and a flanking light. The right side of the house facing the street has a tile-hung first floor on the first bay, while the second bay features a gabled first floor with pebbledash. The first bay has a projecting lateral stack, and the second bay has a canted bay window beneath a hipped roof. There are two stacks at the rear, which is similar in design with two gables. This house is one of the earliest built in Port Sunlight.
