Description

This building, located at 32, 34, and 36 Argyle Street in Birkenhead, is a row of three shops dating from around 1850. It features a stucco exterior over brick and has a Welsh slate roof. The structure is three storeys high and has a six-window range. The Argyle Street elevation has late 20th-century shop fronts that include brackets and remnants of an older cornice above the late 20th-century fascias.

On the Market Street side, there is a five-bay return with a moulded fascia supported by brackets, along with round-arched doors and windows. The first-floor windows are sashes, many of which have been renewed in their original openings. These windows are framed by moulded architraves with keyblocks and a continuous sill band. The building is topped with a moulded cornice and parapet, and it has gable and axial stacks.
