Description

Statue of John Laird, located in Hamilton Square, Birkenhead, was created in 1877 by Albert Bruce Joy, a prominent Victorian sculptor. The statue features a high polished granite pedestal topped with a bronze figure. The pedestal is inscribed with the lettering, "John Laird Born 14 June 1805 died 29 October 1874," and it is both signed and dated by the artist.
