Description

This is a row of shops dating to around 1840. The front of the building is faced with ashlar and has shallow roofs covered with Welsh slate, some of which have been replaced with tile. The shops vary in width, with each having one to three windows. Later 19th-century shop fronts have been inserted, each featuring moulded consoles on either side of the renewed fascia. The upper windows are 12-pane sashes, with a continuous sill band running along the front. A moulded cornice and parapet runs along the top, with raised blocking courses at each end and in the centre. There are also chimney stacks at each end of the row.

To the rear is a three-storey brick building. It has a two-window range, with three surviving sashes with glazing bars. The front has an altered shop front with a cornice over the window and door, and another door with an enlarged window above it to the left. An 1842 survey by J. Lister depicts the building.
