Description
No. 2A on Price Street in Birkenhead is a building that likely served as offices or service buildings related to Hamilton Square, constructed around 1860 to 1870. It features an ashlar façade with a rusticated ground floor and has a later 20th-century Welsh slate mansard roof. The building is two stories tall and has a five-window range. While the lower windows have been replaced, the original round-arched openings remain intact above. From 1894 until 1906, this building was used as the studio for the Della Robbia pottery, founded by Harold Rathbone. It is noted for its group value and historic significance.
