Description
No. 22 Argyle Street, which also includes No. 1 Price Street, is a shop that was originally a dwelling, built around 1850. The building features an ashlar facade and a Welsh slate roof. It stands three storeys high with a two-window range on the Argyle Street side, including a blind central window, and a three-window return on Price Street. The Argyle Street elevation has a late-19th century projecting shop front with segmentally arched windows and brackets supporting a renewed fascia. Above this, there is a 15-pane sash window, a blind central window, and an unmoulded pediment over a continuous sill band. The upper storey has renewed sash windows in their original openings. On the Price Street elevation, the ground floor is rusticated with a blocked window to the left, and there are two-pane sash windows beside the door. The first floor features 12-pane sash windows with a continuous sill band, and the upper windows are renewed in original openings. The building has an end wall and lateral stacks.
