Description
This is a row of six shops and a public house dating to around 1850, located on Market Street in Birkenhead. The building is constructed of brick with a Welsh slate roof. It is three storeys high, with each section originally having a two-window facade. Shops have been inserted into the ground floor, and the public house occupies Nos. 60-62. An original shop front remains at No. 58, featuring a fascia with console brackets on either side. Upper floor windows are 12-pane sashes, with 9-pane sashes in the attic storey. These windows have flat-arched painted heads and a continuous sill band to the first floor. The building has end wall stacks.
