Description
No. 2 Moss Lane is a house that likely dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with later enlargement in the late 18th century and some alterations. It is constructed of whitewashed brick and features both thatched and slate roofs across two levels. The main part of the house is a single-depth, two-unit range with one storey, while there is a projecting one-and-a-half depth, one-bay addition to the left that has two storeys.
On the exterior, the main range includes a small doorway at the left end, which has a wooden frame and a board door. There are two three-light sliding sash windows and a small chimney located at the left gable. The addition features a square-headed three-light sliding sash window on the ground floor and a segmental-headed two-light sliding sash window above, which has four panes per leaf. There is also a small gable chimney on the left side of the addition.
Inside, the main range has a simple purlin roof. This house forms a group with No. 2 Mill Lane, which is located to the rear.
