Description

No. 5 Botanic Road is a house, probably built in the 19th century, with some alterations. It features white-painted roughcast on brick and has a slate roof with two slightly different levels. The house has a double-depth, two-unit plan, plus a small lean-to at the right-hand end.

The exterior is one storey high and has a two-window range. There is a gabled late 20th-century porch to the right of the center, which has three steps leading up to the door. To the left of the porch is a 20th-century canted bay window, and to the right is a 20th-century three-light casement window. A small chimney is located immediately to the left of the break in the roof levels, with another chimney at the right-hand gable. There is also a lean-to scullery along the right-hand gable wall.

The interior has not been inspected. This house forms a group with Nos 1 and 3, which are adjacent to the left.
