Description
Rose Cottage is a house located at 12 Botanic Road in Southport, likely built in the late 18th century or early 19th century, with some alterations. The exterior features white painted scored stucco, which is probably applied to brick, and a slate roof. The house has a single-depth plan, along with a later 19th-century addition at the rear.
It is a single-storey building with a three-window range, featuring three unhorned 6/6 sash windows. There is a segmental-headed doorway situated between the second and third windows, which has a 20th-century glazed door. The ridge chimney is offset to the right, while there is a gable chimney on the left side.
The house is part of a group that includes Nos 14-18 to the left and No. 9, Nos 11 and 13, and Nos 17-23 opposite. The interior has not been inspected.
