Description
11 and 13 Botanic Road is a farmhouse that has been converted into two houses, likely built in the early 18th century and altered over time. The building is constructed of whitewashed brick and features a thatched roof. It has a single-depth, three-unit layout, with one unit in No.11 and two in No.13, along with an old lean-to addition on the left end of No.11 and 20th-century extensions at the rear.
The exterior is one storey high, with an attic in No.13, and presents a five-window range. The doorways are located at both ends, featuring wooden lintels and board doors. No.11 has an enlarged or inserted square three-light casement window to the right of its door and a similar window in the lean-to to the left, which is canted back. No.13 has two small three-light sliding sash windows to the left of its door and a smaller two-light fixed window further left, all with segmental heads and small panes. There is an eyebrow dormer just to the left of the doorway, which contains a similar two-light sliding sash window. A one-flue ridge chimney is situated between the two houses, while No.13 has a two-flue gable chimney.
The interior has not been inspected. This building forms a group with No.9 to the left and Nos. 17-23 to the right, as well as No.12 and Nos. 14-18 opposite.
