Description
3 and 5 Churchgate is a pair of houses, likely built in the late 18th century, with some alterations. They are constructed from whitewashed brick and have a graduated slate roof. The houses have a long single-depth linear plan, probably consisting of three units each.
The exterior features a single storey with a six-window range. Each house has a doorway located between the first and second windows, with a boarded door for No.5 and an altered door for No.3. Both doorways are protected by a glazed porch. No.3 has three-light sliding sash windows, while No.5 has similar windows flanking the porch, but the third window has been replaced with a four-light casement instead of the original three-light sliding sash. There are two ridge chimneys located opposite the doorways.
The interior has not been inspected. This pair of houses forms a group with No.1 on the left and No.7 on the right.
