Description
No. 7 Churchgate is a house, likely built in the late 18th century, with some alterations. It features roughcast brick that has been painted white and a graduated slate roof. The building has a small two-unit plan that is positioned at right angles to the lane.
The exterior is a single storey, with a small lean-to porch located in the center of the east side. This porch includes a four-pane window on the side and a restored three-light casement window to the left. There is a ridge chimney, and the north gable facing the lane has a three-light sliding sash window. On the west side, there is a small two-light sliding sash window and a shallow outshut beneath a catslide roof.
The house is part of a group with Nos 3 and 5 to the left and No. 9 to the right, as well as Nos 4-14 opposite.
