Description
No 18 New Hall on Longmoor Lane is a house built between 1887 and 1889 by Charles Lancaster. It is constructed of common brick with red brick and stone dressings, topped with a slate roof featuring tile cresting. The building has two storeys and three bays. The first bay is slightly set forward, while the third bay projects, both topped with gables that have decorative bargeboards and diapering at the top. The windows are sashed and have flush brick quoins. The ground floor features a bay window in the first bay, which has a hipped slate roof and tripartite windows. The third bay also has a tripartite window, which includes a brick relieving arch and a tympanum with herringbone detailing. On the first floor, the end bays have paired windows, and the central bay has paired sashes. There is an enclosed lean-to porch with brackets and a half-glazed door, and the return to the street features a rectangular bay window.
